Rochdale Exchange will host giving tree for Mission Christmas gift campaign
Rochdale Exchange will be installing an extra special Christmas tree this year. The giving tree will be located outside Costa Coffee, where there will be tags on the tree with the age and gender of a child aged from 0-18.
People will take a tag and buy a present for this child and then drop the unwrapped gift off at the management suite at the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre
The last day that we can we drop off the gifts is the 18 December.
“Cash for Kids is a local grant funding charity that fundraises to help disadvantaged and disabled children across Greater Manchester. We stand up proud in our local community championing the children & projects who need an extra helping hand, supporting children in our city living in difficult circumstances dealing with issues such as poverty, abuse, neglect and short life expectancy. Every penny that is raised stays locally dealing with issues on our doorstep and responding to the needs of our communities.” Key 103 FM.
About Mission Christmas
There are sadly 192,336 children in Greater Manchester who are living in poverty and who will wake up without a present on Christmas morning this year. Key 103’s Cash for Kids are launching Mission Christmas on Monday 13th November to collect new and unwrapped gifts, to bring the joy of Christmas to as many of those children as possible.
Last year, with the incredible generosity of people in Greater Manchester, they collected a phenomenal £2,897,259 worth of toys which were brought smiles to the faces of 61,873 local children.
Rochdale applications – last year we helped 1312 children in Rochdale donating £53,590 worth of gifts. Examples of children’s organisations that applied were Rochdale children’s social care team, Rochdale youth offending team, Rochdale borough Council & children with disabilities outreach team.
