Rochdale shoppers have successfully helped raise a staggering £3,654 for numerous charities across the region through a variety of events hosted by Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre in 2019, beating last year’s total by more than £1,000.
Over the course of last year, the centre delivered a host of exciting activities that all helped in generating this fantastic figure. The money will now be donated to Rochdale Connections Trust, Rochdale Food Bank, Springhill Hospice and Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Lorenzo O’Reilly, Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted with how successful all our charity campaigns have been over the last year. We ran some enjoyable events for our shoppers, such as the FIFA19 console competition which proved a huge hit with football enthusiasts, our Small Business Events were once again popular with both local stall holders and customers alike and Santa’s sleigh was one not to be missed.
“Thank you to everyone who was involved, this total will go a long way in helping four incredible charities who will use the money to assist in the amazing work they do in and around the area.”
The FIFA19 console competition successfully raised £200 for Rochdale Connections Trust, the centre’s Small Business Events generated £250 for Rochdale Food Bank, Santa’s Sleigh collected an amazing £2,957.58 and will be split between Manchester Children’s Hospital and Springhill Hospice and finally, Rochdale Exchange’s annual One Great Day charity event received £404 which will go to Great Ormand Street Hospital.
