Rochdale shoppers will have the chance to meet Father Christmas and his elves this weekend, when he arrives at Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre on his sleigh.

On Saturday 30 November, Santa will be arriving straight from the North Pole with some of his most trusted elves to meet families from across the community. From 11am until 4pm he will be presenting gifts to deserving children for a small donation, helping to raise money for Manchester Children’s Hospital and Springhill Hospice. And, to mark this most festive of occasions, there will also be a variety of exciting activities taking place to help make the day even more joyful.

From 11am until 3pm, two Christmas themed stilt walkers will be roaming the centre, spreading yuletide magic, handing out presents and sweet treats to good boys and girls. A doodle cube will also be located in centre square, which will be available from 11am until 3pm and where youngsters can get creative.

Lorenzo O’Reilly, Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre manager, said: “We’re very excited to be welcoming Father Christmas once again to the centre. Every year he proves as popular as ever, with customers coming from all over Rochdale to meet him and his elves. Last year, through Santa’s Sleigh alone we successfully raised £2,467.50 for charity, so we really hope we can beat our target.”

“Every year we have a brilliant turnout with lots of excited youngsters queuing up to meet him, so we’re expecting to see even more littles ones with their present lists in the run up to Christmas Day.”
